Big Deal?
So was this a big deal? You better bet on it. I am proud to have co-led this team to bring home such a significant multi year revenue deal with a key broadcast customer within the region.
Thank you to my very pregnant wife for putting up with 3 weeks of hardly seeing me while we closed this.
I also think quite a few firsts will also be achieved with the service post launch!
Intelsat S.A., the world’s leading provider of satellite services, announced today that it has signed a 15-year service agreement with MultiChoice, Africa’s leading pay TV provider, on a new satellite to be added to the Intelsat network.
The new satellite, Intelsat 36, is expected to launch in late 2016 and will be co-located with Intelsat 20 at 68.5˚E, Intelsat’s premier direct-to-home (DTH) neighbourhood in Africa. MultiChoice has been the anchor customer at the 68.5˚E location since 1995.
The Intelsat 36 design will feature Ku- and C-band services. The MultiChoice DTH services will utilise the Ku-band payload. The C-band payload will provide services to other customers using the premier Intelsat 68.5˚E video neighbourhood, which also distributes content to South Asian cable communities.
This builds on other great work done with Multichoice recently - see link
